About Me

Is this damn thing on?

Ok - Let's have a chat.

Hi again - I think a little bit of background on me would be in order since you have been so kind as to peruse my site. Allow me to ramble for a sec.....

I think there are some things you are given in this life as a gift. Calling myself an artist of any form sounds very foo-foo, but I like the distinction that comes with that label. There hasn't been a moment in my entire life that I haven't done anything creative in one aspect or another....and I am beyond grateful every day.  Part of the aforementioned gift is the ability and desire to show inner parts of my psyche in a manner that (hopefully) appeals to others and more importantly myself. So, if you haven't already discovered your talents in something...I highly recommend it. Do what makes YOU happy.

My taste in art is just like my taste in pretty much anything - eclectic. Artwise, I really love Post Impressionists like Monet, Van Gogh, Seurat, and Gaugin. 20th Century Artists like Keith Haring, Warhol, Lichtenstein, and the very sublime Al Hirshfeld are also some major favorites. Other artists from the comic/graphic genres that grab my attention are John Byrne, Berkeley Breathed, Frank Miller, and George Perez. You may or may not see their influences in my work, but I revere their unique approaches to their visions. I aspire to be half the artist that they are someday...and still be alive to appreciate it!

Here are some of the things I have done as an artist so far ---

  • 1978- LaFayette Arts League Exhibit, LaFayette GA
  • 1982 DAR Arts Exhibition, LaFayette GA
  • 1983- University Of Georgia Art Symposium
